Wilderness Serene Lakes and Rivers
Many types of fishing on Cisco Chain of Lakes, Lake Gogebic, Bond Falls Flowage, Ontonagon Rivers and National Forest Lakes. Fabulous musky, northern, perch, walleye, trout and more.
Mapbooks in the cabin to use during your stay showing types of lakes and other information. The Cisco Chain of Lakes has various boat landings. Closest ones to the cabin are on Cisco Lake and Clearwater Lake. Both are just down Cisco Lake Road from the cabin driveway.
Great cabin prices, circle driveway great for trailers and extra vehicles, cabin on acreage with privacy (not right next to another cabin) with Ottawa National Forest behind cabin, variety of lakes and rivers to enjoy with 'not on the lake or water prices', convenient location to do many adventures.
From the driveway of the cabin just take Cisco Lake Road to Cisco Lake Boat Landing to get to the Cisco Chain of Lakes. Or, there is the Clearwater Lake Boat Landing (also on Cisco Lake Road, to the left before Cisco Lake, see maps and mapbook for Cisco Chain channels, etc.). From the cabin head west to Stage Coach Road (the area where the last stage coach robbery was, history of Black Bart), then go to the boat landing on the more South side of Lake Gogebic. Beatons Lake Road is part of the circle driveway to the cabin (you could also enjoy Beatons Lake for trout, beach and more; see maps and mapbook for road access). Ontonagon River (Cisco Branch) is just down the road from the cabin (there are more quiet parts of the river and parts that go over rocks, do S curves, hear the sounds of the river, waterfalls, and more). The Kakabika Falls is on the Ontonagon River also (go on Main Hwy. 2 and then take road 527, turn right, not far and parking to the left hand side). Other waterfalls in the area and waterfall list information in the cabin to use.
The area has various fishing contests, derbies and tournaments. Lake Gogebic has a Walleye tournament every year.
Cabin rental is between Watersmeet, MI and Marenisco, MI (historic Stickley, MI area; see our regular website at www.stickleylodgegetaway.weebly.com for pictures and information). Convenient location to enjoy Cisco Chain of Lakes (15 lakes areas), Lake Gogebic (largest lake in Michigan), Ottawa National Forest Lakes, Ontonagon River(s), Bond Falls Flowage, siteseeing, Ottawa National Forest, Presque Isle River and more.
There are many more lakes just west and southwest of Stickley Lodge Getaway, cabin. As this cabin is between Watersmeet and Marenisco in historic Stickley, you have easier access points to all these extra lakes. These include: Pomeroy, Langford, Bobcat, Henry, Elbow, Redboat, Eal, Thrush, Moosehead and Moraine. This area is great to choose some other lakes to fish, do some canoeing or kayaking, sitesee, have some fun. These (as mapped) have boat landings. And, there is the Presque Isle River with a mapped boat landing. There are also so many creeks and other rivers (such as Slate River).
$10 (approx. daily rate for fishing license to have fun in Michigan). Come make some memories and fuel your excitement with new lakes, new areas, etc.
Or, if coming from Wisconsin, there are Wisconsin Lakes to fish on the chain (border lakes using Wisconsin license) and also some other waters
See the other cabin website on trout fishing for some river and lake information also. www.troutuppermichigan.weebly.com
